Check Switch Circuits

  1. Turn ignition off. Unplug speed control switch connector at clockspring. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at Black/White wire at clockspring connector (harness side). If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not greater than 10 volts, repair Black/White wire.
  2. Turn ignition off. Measure resistance of Black wire between clockspring harness connector (harness side) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair Black wire.
