Pinpoint Test K - Anti-Lock Light Normal,Traction Assist Inoperative

NOTE: Traction assist function may be inhibited by ABS control unit if ABS use time exceeds model built into ABS control unit memory. A cool down period is required for traction assist to function normally.
  1. Verify condition exists. If traction assist is inoperative on both rear wheels, go to next step. If traction assist is inoperative on only one rear wheel, go to step 3).
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 55-pin connector from ECU. ECU is located in engine compartment on bracket attached to radiator support. Connect Breakout Box (014-00322) and ABS Adapter (T90P-50-ALA). Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between breakout box pins No. 32 and 60. DO NOT press brake pedal during this test. If battery voltage is not present, verify symptom exists. If battery voltage is present, replacebrakelight switch or repair circuit No. 511 (Light Green wire).
  3. Make an anti-lock stop on a slippery surface. Observe brake pedal action when pump comes on. If brake pedal rises, replace valve body. See Figure . If brake pedal does not raise, replace pump and motor.
