Pinpoint Test A4: Speed Sensor Function (Analog Only)

NOTE: Testing procedure for digital (all electronic) instrument panel is not available from manufacturer.

Turn ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. For instrument cluster removal, see VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect speedometer cable from instrument cluster. Connect ohmmeter between Green/Red wire and Black wire. Slowly rotate speedometer cable connections at instrument cluster. If there are 4 continuity interruptions per speedometer cable rotation, proceed to PINPOINT TEST A5. If not as specified, replace vehicle speed sensor (speedometer subassembly).
