Capacitor Testing

  1. The capacitor connected across the heat sinks may be tested with a capacitor tester if available. The capacitor value is .158 microfarad and 100 working volts DC.
  2. If a capacitor tester is not available, an ohmmeter may be used to test capacitor for shorts. Connect ohmmeter across capacitor terminals. A reading under 20 m/ohms indicates a shorted or leaking capacitor which must be replaced.
