Key On Engine Off (KOEO) - Self-Test Special Notes

When preparing to perform the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) self-test. Be aware of the following conditions:

• It may be necessary to service non-EEC-IV faults before running Key On Engine Off (KOEO) Self-Test.
• Continuous Memory Codes recorded in this step will be used for diagnosis in Continuous Self Test after a PASS code 11 is received in both the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) and the Key On Engine Running (KOER) Self-Tests. See CONTINUOUS SELF TEST  .
• Deviation from this procedure may cause the output of false codes.
• The first set of codes to appear are the KOEO SELF-TEST codes, they will be repeated twice, followed by the SEPARATOR pulse signal and then the CONTINUOUS MEMORY codes [KOEO-Separator-Continuous Memory]. These codes will also be repeated twice. Example: for a code display of 11-1(0)-11. The first number 11 is a KOEO code 11, the second number is a separator code 10, and the third number is a continuous code 11. An illustration of this code sequence may be found in Figure -Figure .
