SERVICE INFORMATION

Cold start can be improved by installing a new choke overcenter

spring and choke index spacer.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
  1. Remove choke cap.
  2. Remove original choke index spacer.
  3. Remove and discard overcenter spring.
  4. Remove and discard "C" spring.
  5. Install a new overcenter spring 9587 (Holley 38R-2009).
  6. Install a new choke index spacer 9A539 (Holley 40R-583-3.
  7. Install choke cap, retaining ring with two (2) new rivets 9SS10 (Holley 29R-1332).

Obtain an Authorized Modifications decal and list the date, dealer number and summary of alterations performed. Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications decal. Clean the area, install the decal and cover it with a clear plastic decal shield.
