SERVICE INFORMATION
Cold start can be improved by installing a new choke overcenter
spring and choke index spacer.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
- Remove choke cap.
- Remove original choke index spacer.
- Remove and discard overcenter spring.
- Remove and discard "C" spring.
- Install a new overcenter spring 9587 (Holley 38R-2009).
- Install a new choke index spacer 9A539 (Holley 40R-583-3.
- Install choke cap, retaining ring with two (2) new rivets 9SS10 (Holley 29R-1332).
Obtain an Authorized Modifications decal and list the date, dealer number and summary of alterations performed. Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications decal. Clean the area, install the decal and cover it with a clear plastic decal shield.
