Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

  1. Drain the transmission fluid Refer to FLUID AND FILTER, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the transmission Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Remove the torque converter (1) from the transmission.
    NOTE:

    Turn the torque converter upside down as soon as it is removed.

  4. Empty the torque converter with the oil contained inside, taking note of the amount extracted.

INSTALLATION 

  1. Fill in the torque converter with new transmission fluid.
    NOTE:

    Insert the torque converter taking care not to damage the seal ring on the gear inlet shaft.

  2. Install the torque converter in the transmission.

  3. Using a straight edge (1a) and a depth micrometer measure the distance between the straight edge (1a) and a flat surface of the torque converter (1b) and make sure it is not lower than 21.4mm.
  4. Fill the transmission with fluid. Refer to FLUID AND FILTER, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  5. Install the transmission. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
