Submerged Pump Assembly Equipped With Level Gauge

REMOVAL 

1. Open the fuse box cover in the engine compartment, remove fuse F34 (15A) and start the engine several times until the fuel pressure in the distribution manifold is expended.
2. Fit the fuse removed previously and close the fuse box casing.
3. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
4. Remove the floor console. Refer to CONSOLE, FLOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
5. Remove the door scuff plate. Refer to PLATE, SCUFF, DOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

6. Recline the seat forward and using a suitable trim tool, remove the roll bar lining from its housing (1a), by disengaging the retainers (1b).

7. Remove the fastener (1a) and remove the front seat belt (1b).
8. Remove the front seat belt lining (2).

9. Remove the fastener (1a) of the lining on rear panel (1b).

10. Remove the hood release lever (1).
11. Release the fastener (2) and disengage the clips from the roll bar lower lining.

12. Disconnect the electrical connection (1) of the seat belt.
13. Undo the upper bolts (2a) of the seat belt (2b) and move it outside the working area.

14. Using a suitable trim tool remove the lower fastener (1a) and the upper fastener (1b).
15. Release and put aside the wiring (2a) of the heated rear window and remove the soft top compartment side lining from its housing (2b).

16. Remove the lower (1a) and upper fasteners (1b) of the soft top housing compartment lining.

17. Remove the soft top housing compartment lining from its housing.

18. Disengage the wiring from the retainer (1).
19. Undo the screws (2a) and remove the fuel pump module cover (2b).

20. Disconnect the electrical connection of the fuel pump module (1a), and release the quick coupling and disconnect the fuel pipe (1b).
21. Undo the screws (2a) for the ring nut (2b).

22. Remove the fuel pump module (1a) from the tank and keep the gasket (1b).

INSTALLATION 

1. Put the fuel pump module in the tank and insert the gasket.
2. Place the ring nut in position and secure it using the screws.
3. Connect the electrical connection for the fuel pump and level gauge.
4. Install the quick coupling and connect the fuel pipe.
5. Position the fuel pump module cover in its housing and tighten the screws.
6. Engage the wiring retainer.
7. Fit in place the soft top housing compartment lining and secure the fasteners.
8. Fit the soft top housing compartment side lining and secure the fasteners.
9. Secure the rear window heater wiring.
10. Place the seat belt and tighten the bolts to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
11. Connect the electrical connection of the seat belt.
12. Position the rear lining and secure with fasteners.
13. Position the hood release lever.
14. Position the lining and secure using the fasteners.
15. Fit the seat belt and put in place the front seat belt lining.
16. Secure the front seat belt lining with fasteners.
17. Take the roll bar lining and fit it in housing engaging the retainers.
18. Connect the negative battery cable.
