Power Electronics Coolant Draining

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING .
  2. Remove the lower radiator air deflector.
  3. Position a suitable drain pan and open the power electronics coolant radiator drain cock. Allow the coolant to drain until it stops.
  4. Using suitable hose-pinching pliers, clamp-closed the coolant hose between the power electronics coolant radiator and onboard charging module.
  5. Using suitable hose-pinching pliers, clamp-closed the coolant hose between the power electronics coolant reservoir and the T-fitting near the power electronics coolant radiator lower hose connection.
  6. Connect a suitable cooling system pressure tester to the power electronics coolant reservoir.
  7. Pump the cooling system pressure repeatedly until the remaining coolant no longer drains from the power electronics coolant radiator drain cock.
  8. Close the power electronics coolant radiator drain cock.
  9. Remove the clamps from the coolant hoses, and disconnect the cooling system pressure tester.
