Test 45A - Right Front, Right Rear, & Left Rear Door Ajar
SWITCH SHORT TO GROUND
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
at end of article.
- Disconnect right front door ajar switch. Using DRB-II, read door ajar switch status. If DRB-II does not display DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace right front door ajar switch. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If DRB-II does display DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, disconnect right rear door ajar switch. Using DRB-II, read door ajar switch status. If DRB-II does not display DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace right rear door ajar switch. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If DRB-II does display DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, disconnect left rear door ajar switch. Using DRB-II, read door ajar switch status. If DRB-II does not display DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace left rear door ajar switch. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If DRB-II does display DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, disconnect Body Controller Module (BCM) Gray connector. BCM is located behind right kick panel. With DRB-II in ohmmeter mode, check resistance on BCM Gray connector terminal No. 3, door ajar (RF, RR, LR) sense circuit (Tan/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Tan/Red wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
