Engine Controls - Adjustments: 1993

  1. Ensure basic idle speed is set to specification. See IDLE SPEED SPECIFICATIONS table under IDLE SPEED. Install Test Harness Set (MB99138) between TPS and TPS connector. See Fig 1 . ConnectDigital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) between TPS output terminals No. 2 and 4. Turn ignition on. DO NOT start engine.
  2. Check TPS voltage. Reading should be .48-.52 volt. Adjust TPS until correct voltage is obtained. Clockwise rotation of TPS increases output voltage. Turn ignition off, and disconnect DVOM. Disconnect negative battery cable for 10 seconds or more to clear any trouble codes.
