Code 34, Cruise Control Vacuum Solenoid Control Circuit

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Place DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Probe terminal No. 1 (Black wire) at cruise control servo connector. If resistance is 10 ohms or more, repair open Black wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER  . If resistance is less than 10 ohms, disconnect Single Board Engine Controller (SBEC) connector.
  2. Inspect connector. If connector condition is not okay, repair connector as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER  . If connector condition is okay, using an external ohmmeter, check resistance at Tan/Red wire between terminal No. 33 at SBEC connector and terminal No. 4 at cruise control servo connector.
  3. If resistance is 10 ohms or more, repair open in Tan/Red wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER  . If resistance is less than 10 ohms, check resistance at Light Green/Red wire between terminal No. 53 at SBEC connector and terminal No. 3 at cruise control servo connector. If resistance is 10 ohms or more, repair open Light/Red wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER  . If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace SBEC. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER  .
