Muffler Heat Shield: Notes

REMOVAL 

1. Remove the exhaust muffler. Refer to MUFFLER, EXHAUST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
2. Remove the bolts and the exhaust isolator bracket.

3. Remove the rivets and the exhaust muffler heat shield.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

• Using NEW  rivets, install the exhaust muffler heat shield.
• Install the exhaust isolator bracket and tighten the bolts to the proper torque specifications.
• Install the exhaust isolator bracket and tighten the bolts to the proper torque specifications.
