Battery Cables: Notes

REMOVAL 

1. Turn the ignition switch to the Off position. Be certain that all electrical accessories are turned off.
2. Remove the battery access cover.

   1 - Negative Cable Terminal Clamp

   2 - Ground Cable Bolt

   3 - Battery Terminal Nut

3. Release the negative battery clamp from the battery post.
4. If required, remove the nut that secures the cable to the battery clamp.
5. Remove the bolt that secures the cable to the body.
6. Remove the battery cable from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

• Position the battery cable in the vehicle.
• Install the bolt that secures the cable to the body.
• If removed, position the battery clamp to the negative battery cable.
• Connect the negative battery cable on the battery terminal.
