Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the floor console. Refer to CONSOLE, FLOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Disconnect the wire harness connectors (2, 3) from the shifter assembly.
  4. Remove the upper and lower left side shifter mounting fasteners (1).

  5. Remove the upper and lower right side shifter mounting fasteners (1).

  6. Pull the shifter back to access the shifter cable (1).
  7. Pry the gear shift cable end (1) from the shifter assembly pin (2).

  8. Release the shift cable housing retainer the shifter assembly (2) by pulling down on the knurled retaining ring (1) and pulling cable away from shifter.
  9. Remove the gear shifter from the vehicle.
