Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 

1. Cycle the ignition off and back on.
2. Test drive the vehicle and operate the Set (+) and Resume buttons of the speed control system to operate the system.
   NOTE:

   The scan tool will display the fault as active only when a Speed Control Switch is pressed.

3. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

   Does the scan tool display this DTC as active or pending?

   Yes 

   WARNING:

   Turn the ignition off disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

   WARNING:

   Do not place an intact non-deployed airbag face down on a hard surface, the airbag propels into the air if accidentally deployed. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

   • Replace the Speed Control Switch Assembly in accordance with the Service Information. Test drive the vehicle and operate the Set (+) and Resume buttons of the speed control system to verify repair.
   • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .

   No 

   • Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
