CAUTION:

Never attempt to disassemble the camshaft phaser, severe engine damage could result.

  1. Remove the timing chain and sprockets. Refer to CHAIN AND SPROCKETS, TIMING, REMOVAL, 5.7L .
  2. Remove the camshaft phaser bolt (1).
  3. Remove camshaft phaser (2).
