Theory Of Operation

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) performs multiple self-diagnostic tests to validate proper operation. A replacement Transmission Electro Hydraulic Control Module (TEHCM) or transmission is supplied with basic programing containing a "no-start" calibration thus requiring it to be programmed with the appropriate calibrations unique to the vehicle. This diagnostic simply checks the TCM for proper calibration.
