Standard Procedure - Wheel Alignment

NOTE: On vehicles with 4WD, front wheel alignment must be checked and adjusted to preferred specifications with vehicle at correct front suspension height.
  1. Correctly position vehicle on wheel alignment equipment per equipment manufacturer's recommendations. Perform a pre-wheel alignment inspection standard procedure. See STANDARD PROCEDURE  under PRE-WHEEL ALIGNMENT INSPECTION.
  2. NOTE: Prior to checking vehicle's alignment measurements, front and rear of vehicle should be jounced. Induce jounce (rear first, then front), by grasping center of bumper and jouncing each end of vehicle an equal number of times. Bumper should always be released when vehicle is at bottom of jounce cycle.
  3. On 4WD vehicles, measure front suspension height. See FRONT SUSPENSION HEIGHT (4WD)  under RIDE HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT. Adjust front suspension height as necessary. On all vehicles, attach wheel alignment equipment following equipment manufacturer's instructions. Check front alignment measurements. If caster and camber are not within specification, adjust as necessary. Always set toe last. For wheel alignment specifications, see Figure .
