Rear Blend Pot Circuit Shorted (Active)
When Monitored:
- With ignition on.
Set Condition:
- This DTC will set if the A/C-Heater Control Module sees voltage less than 0.23 volt on the Rear Temperature Sensor Signal circuit.
Possible Causes:
- Rear A/C-Heater Control Module.
- 5-Volt Supply circuit shorted to Sensor Return circuit.
- 5-Volt Supply circuit shorted to ground.
- Rear Temperature Sensor Signal circuit shorted to ground.
- Rear Temperature Sensor Signal circuit shorted Sensor Return circuit.
- 5-Volt Supply circuit open.
- A/C-Heater Control Module.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off before disconnecting or connecting any control module connector. Failure to do so could result in damage to control module.
NOTE:
Ensure vehicle being tested has a fully charged battery. If it does not, false DTCs or error messages may occur.

Testing:
- Turn ignition off. Connect DRBIII(R) to DLC. Disconnect the Rear A/C-Heater Control Module harness connector. Turn ignition on. Using DRBIII(R), read active HVAC DTCs. Does this DTC reset? If yes, go to next step. If no, replace Rear A/C-Heater Control Module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition off. disconnect A/C-Heater Control Module C2 harness connector. Measure resistance between A/C-Heater Control Module C2 harness connector terminals No. 11 and 12. Is resistance more than 10,000 ohms? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair 5-volt Supply circuit for a short to Sensor Return circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Measure resistance between ground and A/C-Heater Control Module C2 harness connector terminal No. 12. Is resistance more than 10,000 ohms? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair 5-volt supply circuit for a short to ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Measure resistance between ground and A/C-Heater Control Module C2 harness connector terminal No. 9. Is resistance more than 10,000 ohms? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair Rear Temperature Sensor Signal circuit for a short to ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Measure resistance between A/C-Heater Control Module C2 harness connector terminals No. 9 and 11. Is resistance more than 10,000 ohms? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair Rear Temperature Sensor Signal circuit for a short to the Sensor Return circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Measure resistance between A/C-Heater Control Module C2 harness connector terminal No. 12 and Rear A/C-Heater Control Module harness connector terminal No. 7. Is resistance less than 5 ohms? If yes, replace A/C-Heater Control Module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, repair open in 5-volt Supply circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
