VTSS Will Not Arm
Possible Causes:
- Improper VTSS state.
- Improper VTSS arming inhibitors.
- CTM.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off before disconnecting or connecting any control module connector. Failure to do so could result in damage to control module.
NOTE:
Ensure vehicle being tested has a fully charged battery. If it does not, false symptoms may occur.

Testing:
- Turn ignition off. Connect DRBIII(R) to DLC. Using the DRBIII(R), select THEFT ALARM. Does DRBIII(R) display THEFT ALARM ENABLED? If yes, go to next step. If no, use DRBIII(R) to enable VTSS. Perform VEHICLE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Ensure all doors are closed. Using the DRBIII(R), read DOOR AJAR SW state. Does DRBIII(R) display DOOR AJAR SW: CLOSED for any door? If yes, repair appropriate Door Ajar Switch as necessary or perform appropriate test under DOOR AJAR SYSTEM. See SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION . If no, replace CTM. Perform VEHICLE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
