Foglamps Will Not Turn Off

Possible Causes:

Fog Lamp Relay Control circuit shorted to ground.
Fog Lamp Relay Output circuit shorted to voltage.
Intermittent condition.
CTM.

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off before disconnecting or connecting any control module connector. Failure to do so could result in damage to control module.

NOTE: Ensure vehicle being tested has a fully charged battery. If it does not, false symptoms may occur.

Testing:

Turn ignition off. Disconnect CTM C3 harness connector. Do foglamps turn off? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair Fog Lamp Relay Control circuit for a short to ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
Reconnect CTM C3 harness connector. Disconnect Headlamp Switch harness connector. Measure voltage on Headlamp Switch harness connector terminal No. 7. Is voltage less than 5 volts? If yes, go to next step. If no, repair Fog Lamp Relay Output circuit for a short to voltage. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
Connect DRBIII(R) to DLC. Using the DRBIII(R), actuate Foglamp Relay. Does Foglamp Relay click during actuation? If yes, the condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Problem may be intermittent. Visually inspect related wiring harnesses for any chafed, pierced, pinched or partially broken wires. Visually inspect related harness connectors for broken, bent, pushed out or corroded terminals. Repair as necessary. After repair, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, replace CTM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
