DTC P0601: Pcm Internal Controller Failure

NOTE: Powertrain Control Module (PCM) internal controller failure is monitored when ignition is on. DTC may be stored in PCM when internal checksum for software failed or does not match calculated value. Possible cause is a defective PCM.

Turn ignition on with engine off. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC P0601: PCM INTERNAL CONTROLLER FAILURE does not exist, test is complete. If DTC P0601: PCM INTERNAL CONTROLLER FAILURE exists, replace PCM. PCM is located at passenger's side front corner of engine compartment on inner fender panel. Perform TEST VER-1  .
