All Doors Fail To Lock From Any Switch
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Central Timer Module (CTM) connector C2. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Disconnect passenger's Power Door Lock (PDL) switch harness connector. Except Dakota 2-door, measure resistance in Orange/Violet wire between passenger's PDL switch connector and CTM connector C2 terminal No. 4. On Dakota 2-door, measure resistance in Light Green wire between passenger door lock switch and CTM connector C2 terminal No. 4. On all models, if reading is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Orange/Violet wire (Light Green wire on Dakota 2-door) between CTM and passenger's PDL switch connectors. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST . If reading is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- On Dakota 4-door models, disconnect driver's PDL switch connectors. Measure resistance in Orange/Violet wire between ground and CTM connector C2 terminal No. 4. On Dakota 2-door, measure resistance in Light Green wire between passenger's PDL and CTM connector C2 terminal No. 4. On all models, if reading is less than 100 ohms, repair short to ground in Orange/Violet wire (Light Green wire on Dakota 2-door) between passenger's PDL switch and CTM connector terminal No. 4. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST . If reading is more than 100 ohms, go to next step.
- Restore any previously disconnected components and retest. Review symptoms present. Ensure symptoms still exists. Perform other appropriate testing procedures which may also apply for symptoms present. See SYMPTOMS INDEX DIRECTORY table. Replace CTM with a known-good unit and retest. Replace CTM as necessary. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
