Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor (All Models)

On 2.5L, 3.9L, 5.2L and 5.9L models, CKP sensor is mounted on or near outer edge of bellhousing and detects sets of slots on flywheel/torque converter drive plate. On 4.7L and 8.0L models, CKP sensor is mounted to right lower side of engine block and detects sets of slots on crankshaft sprocket. PCM uses this information to determine fuel injection sequence, ignition signal and spark timing.
