CMTC Incorrect Mileage Or Distance Problems

  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read engine information under monitor display. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, see PCM MESSAGE NOT RECEIVED; NO RESPONSE FROM PCM  under COMMUNICATIONS. If scan tool does not display NO RESPONSE, go to next step.
  2. Observe Throttle Position (TP) sensor while depressing accelerator pedal. If TP sensor percent does not increase while operating throttle, see appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If TP sensor percent does increase, go to next step.
  3. Raise and support vehicle. Start vehicle and place transmission in Drive. Using scan tool, read vehicle speed signal. Increase vehicle speed and observe scan tool. If speed signal changes, system is currently operating correctly. If speed signal does not change, vehicle speed signal may be at fault. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
