Rear Wiper/Washer On Constantly

NOTE: For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Ensure rear wiper switch is off. Using scan tool, monitor rear wiper switch voltage. If voltage is more than 4.2 volts, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure . If voltage is 4.2 volts or less, go to next step.
  2. Determine if washer motor runs for 10 seconds each time ignition switch is turned to ON position. If motor runs, replace BCM. If motor does not run, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect rear wiper motor connector. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and rear wiper motor connector, terminal No. 3 (Brown/Light Green wire). If no voltage is displayed, replace wiper motor. If any voltage is displayed, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector "B". Measure voltage between ground and rear wiper motor connector, terminal No. 3 (Brown/Light Green wire). Turn ignition on. If no voltage is displayed, replace BCM. If any voltage is displayed, repair Brown/Light Green wire for short to battery voltage.
