High Beam Indicator Light Concerns

NOTE: For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition on. Turn high beam headlights on. Ensure turn signals are off. If high beam headlights do not illuminate, go to EXTERIOR LIGHTING SYSTEM  . If high beam headlights illuminate, go to next step.
  2. Remove ignition key. Turn off all lights and accessories. Close all doors. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and information center connector terminal No. 3 (Black wire). If resistance is 10 ohms or more, repair open Black wire. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect information center. Remove and inspect high beam indicator light bulb. Replace as needed. If bulb is okay, go to next step.
  4. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and information center connector terminal No. 1 (Red/Orange wire). If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Red/Orange wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace information center.
