Interior Light Test 5A - Courtesy Lights Remain On

NOTE: Perform INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Ensure all doors are aligned properly and courtesy light switch is off. Adjust as needed. Close all doors. Using scan tool, read driver's door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LFDOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to DOOR AJAR TEST 3A  . If scan tool does not display LFDOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays any (RF, LR, RR) DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to DOOR AJAR TEST 1A  . If scan tool does not display any (RF, LR, RR) DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) from junction block. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. If courtesy lights are no longer illuminated, replace BCM. If courtesy lights remain illuminated, repair courtesy lights driver circuit (Yellow or Light Green wire) for short to ground.
