Instrument Cluster Test 12B - Inaccurate Fuel Gauge
NOTE:
Perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 12A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Blue connector C4. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A.
- Using external ohmmeter, measure and record resistance between ground and terminal No. 7 (Dark Blue wire) on Blue connector. Add or remove 5 gallons of gas. Measure and record resistance between ground and terminal No. 7 (Dark Blue wire). If resistance measurements match, repair or replace fuel tank sending unit. If resistance measurements do not match, system is currently operating correctly.
