Power Door Lock Test 4A - All Doors Fail To Lock/Unlock From One Switch
NOTE:
Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- If problem is with door key cylinder switch on vehicle equipped with Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS), go to step 4). Remove appropriate door trim panel. See POWER WINDOWS article. Disconnect door lock switch connector. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Pink wire) on harness connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Pink wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Connect jumper wire between terminals No. 1 and 4 (White/Dark or Light Green wire) on door lock switch harness connector. Using scan tool, read door lock switch voltage. If voltage is 8 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 8 volts, replace door lock switch.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Blue 16-pin connector C4. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 4 on door lock switch harness connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open White/Dark or Light Green wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM.
- Remove appropriate door trim panel. See POWER WINDOWS article. Disconnect door key cylinder switch connector. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 2 (Pink wire) on harness connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Pink wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Connect jumper wire between door key cylinder switch harness connector terminals. Using scan tool, read appropriate door arm/disarm switch voltage. If voltage is 8 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 8 volts, replace door key cylinder switch.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Blue 16-pin connector C4. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Light or Dark Green/Orange wire) on harness connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Light or Dark Green/Orange wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM.
