Section 52 (Keyless Entry System - Remote): Operation

On 1997 models, the transmitter has 2 buttons for operation: LOCK and UNLOCK buttons. On 1998 models, the transmitter has 3 buttons for operation: LOCK, UNLOCK and PANIC buttons. The UNLOCK button will unlock all doors and light the illuminated entry system. On models with anti-theft alarm system, it will also deactivate anti-theft system.
The LOCK button will lock all doors and activate anti-theft system (if equipped). If enabled, horn will sound a short chirp to signify that the signal was received and doors are locked.
The PANIC button will flash headlights and turn on courtesy lights for approximately 3 minutes, unless PANIC button is pressed again or vehicle speed is more than 15 MPH (24 km/ph), canceling PANIC mode.
