Exterior Light Test 2B - Headlights Will Not Turn On
NOTE:
Perform EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 2A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Ensure jumper wire is still connected between low beam relay socket terminals "A" and "D". Remove Power Distribution Center (PDC) fuse No. 6 or 7. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage on B+ terminal of fuse socket. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair or replace PDC. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Reinstall fuse and disconnect either right or left headlight connector. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage on low beam terminal (Violet wire left, Violet/Red wire right). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace headlight. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Violet or Violet/Red wire.
