Power Door Lock Test 17B - All Doors Fail To Lock & Unlock From One Switch

NOTE: Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect inoperative door key cylinder switch connector. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal No. 1 (door switch MUX circuit) on inoperative key cylinder switch connector. Wire color is White with Dark Green (left door), Light Green (right door) or Red (liftgate) identifying stripe. Go to next step.
  2. If voltage is less than 4.5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 4.5 volts or greater, determine if door locks operate correctly when using interior door lock switch. If door lock operates, repair open suspect door lock MUX circuit. If door lock does not operate, go to POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 17C  .
  3. Turn ignition off. Turn off all lights and accessories. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 2 (Black/Light Green wire) on suspect key cylinder switch connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black/Light Green wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  4. If problem is not with liftgate key cylinder switch, replace suspect door lock switch. If liftgate key cylinder switch is suspect, go to next step.
  5. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal No. 1 (White/Red wire) on liftgate key cylinder switch connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair White/Red wire for short to battery voltage. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace liftgate key cylinder switch.
