Exterior Light Test 3A - Headlights Will Not Turn Off

NOTE: Perform EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using scan tool, read headlight switch sense. If scan tool displays HEADLAMP SW: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display HEADLAMP SW: CLOSED, go to step 4).
  2. Disconnect headlight switch. Read headlight switch sense. If scan tool displays HEADLAMP SW: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display HEADLAMP SW: CLOSED, replace headlight switch.
  3. Disconnect junction block connector "A". See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on headlight switch connector terminal No. 3 (Light Green/Orange wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Light Green/Orange wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A.
  4. Disconnect low beam headlight relay. See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 2A. If headlights turn off, go to next step. If headlights do not turn off, replace Power Distribution Center (PDC).
  5. Disconnect multifunction switch connector. See Figure in CHIME TEST 4B. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on terminal No. 10 (Orange/White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Orange/White wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  6. Measure resistance on terminal No. 9 (Red/Yellow wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Red/Yellow wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace low beam headlight relay.
