Chime Test 11A - Chime Inoperative With Extreme Coolant Temperature

NOTE: Perform CHIME TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Using scan tool, actuate chime. If chime sounds, go to next step. If chime does not sound, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A.
  2. Using scan tool, actuate engine temperature light. If engine temperature light does not illuminate, go to INFORMATION CENTER TEST 4A  . If engine temperature light illuminates, go to next step.
  3. Determine actual engine coolant temperature. If coolant temperature is extremely high, repair cooling system as needed. If coolant temperature is normal, system is currently functioning correctly.
