Infinity Radio Test 1D - Shorted Rear Channel
NOTE:
Perform INFINITY RADIO TEST 1B before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see appropriate sections in this article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Turn radio on. Disconnect right rear speaker. If sound is restored to rear channel when speaker is disconnected, replace speaker. If sound is not restored to rear channel when speaker is disconnected, go to next step.
- Reconnect speaker and disconnect left rear speaker. If sound is restored to rear channel when speaker is disconnected, replace speaker. If sound is not restored to rear channel when speaker is disconnected, go to next step.
- Disconnect right pillar speaker. If sound is restored to rear channel when speaker is disconnected, replace speaker. If sound is not restored to rear channel when speaker is disconnected, go to next step.
- Disconnect left pillar speaker. If sound is restored to rear channel when speaker is disconnected, replace speaker. If sound is not restored to rear channel when speaker is disconnected, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Black connector from back of radio. Disconnect right rear speaker. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on radio Black connector, terminal No. 3 (Dark Blue/White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Dark Blue/White wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on Black connector, terminal No. 7 (Dark Blue/Orange wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Dark Blue/Orange wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on Black connector, terminal No. 2 (Brown/Yellow wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Brown/Yellow wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on Gray connector, terminal No. 6 (Brown/Light Blue wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Brown/Light Blue wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace radio.
