Test VER-2 - Road Test Verification Procedure
Ensure all engine components are connected. Reassemble and reconnect components as necessary. If coming to this verification procedure after a NO DTC TEST, check if initial symptom still exists. If initial or another symptom exists, repair is not complete. Check all pertinent Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), and return to TEST TC-1A if necessary.
If coming to this verification procedure after a DTC TEST, and another DTC was read previously and not corrected, return to TEST TC-1A and follow path specified by other DTC. If no other DTCs exist, and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has not been replaced, perform following:
- Connect scan tool to PCM Data Link Connector (DLC), and erase DTCs. Disconnect scan tool.
- Using scan tool, reset all values in adaptive memory.
- Disconnect scan tool.
To ensure no other DTC remains, perform following:
- Turn on A/C and blower motor (if equipped). Drive vehicle for at least 5 minutes and attain a speed of at least 40 MPH. Ensure transmission shifts through all gears.
- Upon completion of road test, turn engine off. Restart engine, and let it idle for at least 2 minutes. Turn engine off. Connect scan tool to PCM DLC.
- Read all DTCs. If repaired DTC has reset, repair is not complete. Check all pertinent Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), and return to TEST TC-1A, if necessary. If another DTC exists, return to TEST TC-1A and follow path specified by other DTC. If no other DTCs exist, repair is now complete.
