Test 8B - Short To 5 Volts

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  in this article. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  in this article.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector terminals No. 26, CCD BUS positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire), and No. 6, 5-volt supply circuit (Violet/White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Violet/Brown wire shorted to Violet/White wire. Perform TEST VER-1.
  2. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between PCM connector terminals No. 46, CCD BUS negative circuit (White/Black wire), and No. 6, 5-volt supply circuit (Violet/White wire).
  3. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair White/Black shorted to Violet/White wire. Perform TEST VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform TEST VER-1.
NOTE: Test procedures skip from TEST 8B to TEST 8E. No test procedures have been omitted.
