Test No. 1 - Checking Cruise Control System For Fault Codes
- Connect DRB-II to diagnostic connector. Enter Diagnostic Test Mode. Refer to ENTERING ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS in this article. Record all codes. If codes 88-55 or 88-12-55 are displayed (no fault codes), go to next step. If codes 88-34-55 or 88-12-34-55 are displayed (cruise control servo), go to CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM TEST NO. 2. If codes 88-15-55 or 88-12-15-55 are displayed (speed sensor), go to DR-3 .
- Put system in Sensor Test "09". See ENTERING ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS in this article. Ensure cruise control switch is in "OFF" position. While observing DRB-II, move cruise control switch to "ON" position. Press "SET" button. Move cruise control switch to "RESUME" position. Record displays on tester.
- If tester displayed "00" with cruise control on, "10" with "SET" button pressed, and "01" with cruise control switch moved to "RESUME" position, go to CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM TEST NO. 3. If tester displayed blank with cruise control on, blank with "SET" button pressed, and blank with cruise control switch moved to "RESUME" position, go to CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM TEST NO. 4. If tester displayed blank with cruise control switch moved to "RESUME" position, go to CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM TEST NO. 5. If tester displayed "00" with cruise control on, "00" with "SET" button pressed, and "00" with cruise control switch moved to "RESUME" position, go to CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM TEST NO. 6.
