CCS1 - Checking Cruise Control System For Fault Codes

  1. Connect diagnostic readout box to engine harness connector. Put system into Diagnostic Test Mode. Record all codes. If codes 88-15-55 or 88-12-15-55 are displayed, perform DR2 test procedures. If codes 88-34-55 or 88-12-34-55 are displayed, proceed to CCS2. If codes 88-55 or 88-12-55 are displayed, put system into Sensor Test Mode 09.
  2. Ensure cruise control switch is in the "OFF" position. While observing readout box display, move cruise control on/off switch to "ON" position. Press set button and then resume button. Record display readings.

  3. If display reads "00" with on/off switch in "ON" position, "10" when set button is pressed and "01" when resume button is pressed, speed control switch is okay. Proceed to CCS3.

  4. If display reads "blank" with on/off switch in "ON" position, "blank" when set button is pressed and "blank" when resume button is pressed, proceed to CCS4. If display reads "blank" with on/off switch in "ON" position, "10" when set button is pressed and "10" when resume button is pressed, proceed to CCS5.
  5. If display reads "00" with on/off switch in "ON" position, "00" when set button is pressed and "00" when resume button is pressed, proceed to CCS6.
