Speed Control Switch

  1. Remove speed control module from right side of instrument panel. Leave module connected to the wiring harness. The terminals are numbered starting from the Black ground wire No. 1 and proceeding to the other end to terminal No. 9.
  2. With speed control switch in the "OFF" position, connect a voltmeter between pin No. 2 and ground. Voltage should be zero. Depress "SET" button and voltage should read 12 volts. Release "SET" button and slide "RESUME" button to the "RESUME" position. Voltage should be 12 volts.
  3. Connect positive lead of voltmeter to terminal No. 3. With speed control switch in the "OFF" position, voltage should be zero. Turn speed control switch to "ON" and "RESUME" position. Voltage should be 12 volts in both positions.
  4. With speed control switch in the "ON' position, depress the "SET" button. Voltage should be zero. With positive lead of voltmeter connected to terminal No. 5 and speed control switch in the "OFF" position, voltage should be zero. With speed control switch in the "ON" or "RESUME" positions, voltage should be 12 volts. If any test results are not okay, replace the speed control switch.
