Auxiliary Air Valve

  1. Disconnect air cleaner hose from throttle body. Start engine. Note location of auxiliary valve. See Fig 1 .
  2. Place finger over auxiliary valve when coolant temperature is less than 137°F (75°C). Ensure engine speed drops. Repeat procedure with coolant temperature greater than 146°F (80°C). Engine speed should not change. Replace throttle body if auxiliary air valve fails to operate correctly.
