EGR Vacuum Modulator

  1. Disconnect vacuum hoses from ports "P" and "Q" of vacuum modulator. See Figure . Place finger over port "P" and blow into port "Q". Air should pass freely through air filter side.
  2. Plug all disconnected vacuum hoses. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Maintain engine speed at 3000 RPM. Place finger over port "P" and blow into port "Q". Air should pass through air filter with a strong resistance. Replace EGR vacuum modulator if defective. Reconnect vacuum hoses.
