Test Description
Numbers below refer to step numbers on Diagnostic Table.
- 1. The On-Board Diagnostic (OBD II) System Check prompts technician to complete some basic checks and store freeze frame and failure records data on scan tool if applicable. This creates an electronic copy of data taken when malfunction occurred. The information is then stored on scan tool for later reference.
- 2. Normal ACP sensor signal voltage is between .1 and 4.9 volts. If A/C voltage is within range, review Fail Records data to determine conditions that were present when DTC P0532 set.
- 6. The scan tool may not display 5 volts. The important thing is that PCM/ECM recognizes voltage as more than 4 volts, indicating that PCM/ECM and signal circuit are okay. A test light that illuminates indicates a short to ground in signal circuit.
- 7. A short to ground in 5-volt reference circuit could also set additional DTCs.
- 11. The replacement PCM/ECM must be reprogrammed.
