Diagnostic Test

TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
3. Operate left rear window to the full up and down positions several times (if possible).
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
  Does the scan tool display B1929-LEFT REAR WINDOW CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN OR HARDWARE THERMO PROTECTION ACTIVE?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. With the scan tool, check the Environmental Data to help identify the conditions in which the DTC was set. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors. Repair as necessary.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
(Q307) LEFT REAR WINDOW MOTOR OVERHEATED
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Wait five minutes to allow the motor to cool down.
3. Operate left rear window to the full up and down positions several times (if possible).
  Does the motor operate properly?
  
  Yes
  - Test complete. If the motor continues to set this DTC, replace the motor in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  No
  - Go To 3
WINDOW MOTOR OPEN

1. Disconnect the Left Rear Window Motor connector.
2. Using a 12-volt test light, connect one end to the (Q111) Left Rear Window Driver (Up) circuit in the motor connector.
3. Connect the other end of the 12-volt test light to the (Q211) Left Rear Window Driver (Down) circuit in the motor connector.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. Operate the motor in both directions from the switch several times while observing the test light
  Does the test light BLINK each time the switch is pressed in either direction?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the Window Motor in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  No
  - Go To 4
(Q111) LEFT REAR WINDOW DRIVER (UP) CIRCUIT OPEN

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Power Top Control Module C2 connector.
3. Measure the resistance of the (Q111) Left Rear Window Driver (Up) circuit between the PTCM C2 connector and the Motor connector.
  Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
  
  No
  - Repair the (Q111) Left Rear Window Driver (Up) circuit for an open.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  Yes
  - Go To 5
(Q211) LEFT REAR WINDOW DRIVER (DOWN) CIRCUIT OPEN

1. Measure the resistance of the (Q211) Left Rear Window Driver (Down) circuit between the PTCM C2 connector and the Motor connector.
  Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
  
  No
  - Repair the (Q211) Left Rear Window Driver (Down) circuit for an open.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  Yes
  - Replace the Power Top Control Module in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
