Retainer Oil Seal-Crank-Rear: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Dodge Sprinter. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Clean all sealing surfaces. Replace retainer assembly if gasket is torn or damaged.
  2. Apply MOPAR Engine Sealant / RTV Silicone Rubber Adhesive to the points where the oil pan and engine block are joined (3).
  3. Install the rear oil seal carrier and tighten the bolts to 8 N.m (70 in. lbs.)
CAUTION: Make sure that seal is correctly installed on the crankshaft, with the lip of the seal to the lubricant (2).
