Operation Check

Remove IAC motor from throttle body. See IDLE AIR CONTROL MOTOR under MOTORS, RELAYS & SOLENOIDS in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - SEBRING COUPE & STRATUS COUPE article. Manufacturer recommends connecting Test Connector (MB991709) to IAC motor during testing procedure. Connect battery voltage to IAC terminals No. 2 and 5. See Fig 1 . Connect ground to the following IAC terminals in the following order:

  1. Terminals No. 1 and 4.
  2. Terminals No. 3 and 4.
  3. Terminals No. 3 and 6.
  4. Terminals No. 1 and 6.
  5. Terminals No. 1 and 4.

Repeat steps in reverse sequence. If IAC motor vibrates while testing, IAC is okay. If IAC motor does not vibrate during testing, replace IAC motor.
