Hood Ajar Switch Missing (Export Only)
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- If the hood was open during module configuration, go to the next step. If the hood was not open during module configuration, open the hood and attempt to reconfigure the RKE module.
- Open the hood. With the DRBIII select: VEHICLE THEFT, VTSS, INPUT/OUTPUT. Read the HOOD AJAR SW state. If the DRBIII shows CLOSED, replace the remote keyless entry module. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If the DRBIII does not show CLOSED, go to the next step.
- Disconnect the hood ajar switch connector. See Figure. Measure the resistance of the ground circuit in the hood ajar connector. If the resistance is below 5 ohms, go to the next step. If the resistance is above 5 ohms, repair the ground circuit for an open.
- Disconnect the hood ajar switch connector. Disconnect the remote keyless entry module connector. See Figure. Measure the resistance of the hood ajar switch sense circuit between the switch connector and the RKE module connector. If the resistance is below 5 ohms, go to the next step. If the resistance is above 5 ohms, repair the hood ajar switch sense circuit for an open.
- Disconnect the hood ajar switch connector. Connect a jumper wire between the hood ajar switch sense circuit and ground. If the DRBIII shows HOOD AJAR SW: CLOSED, replace the hood ajar switch. If the DRBIII does not show HOOD AJAR SW: CLOSED, replace the remote keyless entry module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
