Compass/Mini-Trip Computer Elapsed (Trip) Time Inoperative/Wrong

- Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with Compass/Mini-Trip Computer (CMTC) and Body Control Module (BCM). If scan tool communicates with both BCM and CMTC, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with BCM and/or CMTC, perform appropriate no response test under COMMUNICATIONS .
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select COMPASS/MINI-TRIP COMPUTER and perform SELF-TEST. If CMTC fails self-test or if any CMTC display segments fail to illuminate, replace CMTC. If CMTC passes self-test and all CMTC segments illuminate, system is functioning properly at this time. Fault may be intermittent.
